Privacy Policy

Last updated: 12 October 2026

This policy explains what personal data University of SEO ("we", "us") collects when you use this website and learning platform, why we collect it, and the choices you have. If anything here is unclear, write to us through the Contact page or call +92 317 7767731.

1. Data we collect

  • Account data: your name, email address, password (stored only as a one-way hash), profile photo, biography and social links you choose to add.
  • Learning data: courses you enrol in, lessons watched and how long, quiz answers and scores, assignments, Lab tasks and submissions, Arena progress, certificates, levels, badges, and your wallet balance and history (coins and dollars).
  • Lab data: the website addresses (URLs) you submit for an audit and the results of those audits. Only submit sites you own or are allowed to test.
  • Community data: posts, answers, comments, reactions, group memberships, messages and reports you make.
  • Payment data: what you bought, the amount, the payment method and the transaction reference. Card and wallet details are entered on the payment provider's page (for example JazzCash, Easypaisa, Stripe or PayPal) and are not stored by us. For bank transfers we store the receipt you upload.
  • Technical data: IP address and the approximate location it points to (country, region, city), browser and device type, the devices you log in from, and log records needed for security, fraud prevention and rate limiting.
  • Proctored exams: only for exams marked as proctored, and only after you allow the camera on that exam page. While the exam page is open we take a still photo from your front camera when something unusual happens (for example leaving the exam tab, pasting text or pressing a developer-tools shortcut) and, if the exam notice says so, one photo when you start. We also log those events with the time, IP address and browser. No video or sound is recorded, and the text you copy or paste is never stored. If you decline the camera, only that exam stays locked; the rest of the platform works as usual.
  • Support data: tickets, messages and files you send to our support team.

2. Why we use it

  • To create and secure your account and let you log in.
  • To deliver courses, labs, grading, certificates and the community.
  • To process payments, enrolments, refunds and invoices.
  • To prevent cheating, spam and abuse (for example verifying watch time, approving coins and limiting repeated requests).
  • To answer support requests and send messages about your account, purchases and learning.
  • To improve the platform using aggregated statistics.

We process data because it is needed to provide the service you asked for, to meet legal obligations (such as keeping payment records), for our legitimate interest in keeping the platform safe and fair, or with your consent (for example optional cookies and newsletter emails, which you can withdraw at any time).

3. Who can see your data

  • Other learners: your public profile, community posts and answers, leaderboard position and verified certificates. Posts in private groups are visible only to approved members.
  • Instructors: progress and submissions for the courses they teach.
  • Service providers: payment providers, email delivery, hosting, video hosting and, when you use AI features, the AI provider that processes the request. To show administrators the approximate location of an IP address we use an IP location service (ipwho.is by default), which receives only the IP address. They act on our instructions.
  • Authorities: only when the law requires it.

We do not sell your personal data.

4. How long we keep it

We keep your account data while your account is active. Payment records are kept for as long as tax and accounting rules require. Security logs are kept for a limited period (security events up to one year). Proctoring photos are seen only by site administrators and are deleted automatically after 30 days, or after the shorter period shown in the exam notice. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymise your personal data, except records we must keep by law. Community answers may remain in anonymised form so discussions still make sense.

5. Your choices and rights

  • See and update your profile data in your account settings.
  • Ask for a copy of your data, or ask us to correct or delete it.
  • Object to or restrict certain uses, and withdraw consent for optional cookies or emails.
  • Delete your account by contacting us through the Contact page.

6. Cookies

We use cookies that are needed to keep you logged in and the site secure, and optional cookies only if you accept them. See our Cookie Policy.

7. Security

Passwords are hashed, the site uses HTTPS, private files are served only to their owners through short-lived links, and access to personal data is limited to staff who need it. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong, unique password.

8. Children

The platform is intended for learners aged 13 and over. If you are under 18, use it with the permission of a parent or guardian.

9. Changes

We will update this page when our practices change and show the new date at the top. Important changes will also be announced on the platform.
